DC PIERSON on WTF, Harmontown and Doug Loves Movies today!
Aside from being a total renaissance man within the world of comedy, DERRICK’s own DC Pierson is often a regular on several popular podcasts. And today he’s featured on all three of my personal favorites!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

My Trip to Harmontown
Written by CNTributor: Andy Young
It’s no secret that I’m a passionate Community fan, but what you might not know is I probably wouldn’t even be making movies if it wasn’t for seeing Acceptable.TV in High School and, for the first time in my life, seeing filmmaking as accessible. But that’s the magic of Dan Harmon’s work to me, turning a passive audience into an active one and making content consumers jump out of their chairs and become content providers.
Because that’s exactly what happened at last night’s Harmontown.
Weeks earlier, I got asked to direct a segment for a documentary that’s being made about the country-wide tour for “Harmontown”, Dan’s live show/podcast that made a stop at the Cap City Comedy Club in Austin, Texas. My duties included taping the show, audience reactions, and even getting an interview with the man that made me want to pick up a camera five years ago in the first place.
Thanks so much to my DP TaNeil for shooting, to Dan & the whole Harmontown gang (obviously) and to Neil Berkeley for the opportunity. I don’t know how much of my footage they’ll actually end up using (if any), but that’s irrelevant because this picture exists:
And as a filmmaker, a Human Being, and a loyal Harmenian, that’s more than enough for me.
