“Chris Gethard Gets Dominated”

I was in the studio for this episode, and there were parts of this that I simply could not watch; I had to avert my eyes. But it is an amazing episode. Gethard’s commitment to this show is unquestionable.
One of Johnny Carson’s most legendary Tonight Show clips was the “Ed Ames Tomahawk Throw”, where Ames demonstrated his throwing skills by hitting a wood panel with a chalk outline of a cowboy. He hit the “cowboy” right in the groin, with the handle pointing up, and the studio audience went nuts. Carson made a few clever jokes, and it became a staple of every Anniversary Clip Show that he would ever do.
It’s 2012, and times have changed. Let’s just say that if Ed Ames came on The Chris Gethard Show, we can pretty much agree that there’d be no “chalk outline of a cowboy,” right?
(Me to TCGS director J.D. Amato, immediately after the broadcast: ”There are going to be GIFs of this, right? Because Gethard pretty much ran through the gamut of facial expressions of every Character Actor from 1930 to 1955 in the span of 35 minutes.”)
Have you guys tuned in to the Chris Gethard Show yet? I’ll admit, I haven’t yet made it to a taping, but I’ve tuned in a few times and you should too. I should also point out that most episodes don’t feature a dominatrix.
